Lasse Kuhl is the primary songwriter and lead singer for his band, sun’s sons. While still a teenager, he produced the debut album for his sister, Julie Kuhl. He is also a member of her band, recently supporting Jamie Cullum on his German tour. Meanwhile, sun’s sons released two independent EPs. Every single from the LP earned editorial playlist placements, and the release show was sold out. Notably, one track was licensed for a (still confidential) Netflix production. Following the release, Kuhl toured with sun’s sons for a year, supporting UK acts like Cardinal Black and Walt Disco. They also embarked on a headline European tour across five countries – a project supported by the Goethe Institute for the band’s ambitious sustainability concept. KCRW host Chris Douridas, sent him, along with his sister, to the United States for four weeks to work in Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York, where they wrote with legendary producers such as Stefan Skarbek (Amy Winehouse). Building on the success of his music videos, which were nominated at various German film festivals, Lasse wrote, directed, and acted in his short film “When It All Falls Apart,” which premiered in cinemas in April 2026.

Felix Lothwesen hails from Frankfurt Germany. He has played with the Frankfurt Chamber Opera, the Ensemble Konzertgebrau and is an accomplished writer as well. He writes and plays in the band with Julie Kuhl, Chevalier and indie-pop band sun’s sons to name a few.
